In January of 2004 Finning International added engines manufactured by Caterpillar subsidiary 'Perkins Engines Company Limited' to its product line in Western Canada through the creation of DiPERK.

DiPERK went through a name change in January 2007, becoming DiPERK Power Solutions. This follows Finning International's other Perkins Distribution operations in South America and the United Kingdom.

DiPERK is the master distributor of Perkins engines for British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest and Yukon Territories. DiPERK is committed to developing the most efficient distribution network for Perkins Engines in its territory, offering comprehensive power packages for OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and equipment users, DiPERK also directs, through stocked warehouses, the aftermarket support of Perkins parts and service dealers. Therefore, DiPERK has a substantial stock of Perkins engines and parts available for immediate delivery through their dealer network.

DiPERK has made significant inroads in the industrial, power generation, construction, agriculture and marine fields. Perkins diesel engines power tractors, combine harvesters, excavators, telehandlers, forklifts, gen-sets, etc., manufactured by some of the worlds leading OEMs.

Our long experience with Perkins engines has its roots in other territories. Finning International is known to be the largest distributor of Caterpillar equipment in the world, and the sole distributor for Perkins in Chile, Argentina, and the United Kingdom. DiPERK Chile was recently awarded as the best Latin American Distributor.

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, the Finning group has a strong presence in its native Canada, the UK and South America.

In 1932, the entrepreneurial businessman and engineer, Frank Perkins, founded his company F Perkins Ltd.   Operating from a tiny workshop in Peterborough, UK, he employed just seven people and produced his first diesel engine within a few months. Currently three manufacturing sites in the UK and licensees around the world produce over 300,000 engines per year, supported by a huge global distribution network.

Perkins Engines Company Limited (www.perkins.com) , headquartered in Peterborough, UK, with North American headquarters in Mossville, Ill., is a supplier of off-highway diesel and gas engines in the 5-horsepower-to-2,600-horsepower market. Perkins was acquired by Caterpillar in 1999. Its engines are branded and marketed separately. Perkins' key strength is its ability to tailor engines precisely to meet customers' requirements with  21,000 different specifications. Over 1,000 major international OEMs in the construction, agricultural, power generation, materials handling, and defense markets choose Perkins to provide their power.
